About Us

Malawi Catering Services Limited (MCSL) was incorporated in 1982 as a subsidiary of Airports Development Limited (ADL). The company was formerly called Hotels Management Limited pursuant to the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association establishing the same in 1978.

Despite the broad business mandate enshrined in its founding charter, the company has, since establishment, operating the in-flight catering; Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) Ndege Lounge, Forward Holding Lounge, and VIP Lounge and outside catering for the majority of its revenue base.

Malawi Catering Services Limited exists “to provide high quality goods and services in a diversified commercial establishment beyond the traditional catering and hospitality business with a visible presence in the Africa Region”.”

In-Flight Catering

This has traditionally been the main business of MCSL since its establishment. This involves the supply of in-flight meals and laundry services to flights operating through Kamuzu International Airport.

Airport Terminal Business

The terminal business encompasses Lumbadzi Grill, Songwe Bar, Lumbadzi Bar, Ndege Lounge, Forward Holding Lounge and VIP Lounge. These outlets carter for travelers as well as airport staff

Outside Catering

Malawi Catering Services Limited undertakes contract and ad hoc (events, conferences and many more) offsite/outside mass and tailor-made catering, supplying all catering services to institutions and individuals.

Mpale Cultural Village

Malawi Catering Services Limited (MCSL) started operating Mpale Cultural Village under concession from the Department of Tourism in 2011. The village which is wholly owned by the Malawi Government and established to promote the Yao culture, was built from 2010 but was officially launched on 24th November, 2011.

Situated on top of the rocky Chinaphale Hill within Mpale Village in Mangochi, the village has twelve (12) modern rooms, conference facilities which can take in excess of 80 people. Mpale Cultural Village offers you the unique opportunity to take a cultural expedition into past and present Yao culture. The village is also host to a Museum, an Amphitheatre and the cultural village side. It attracts its business from the residents and guests from the surrounding Resorts because of the quality and diversity of its food.
